The art of making kokedama – moss balls – originates from Japan, where these bonsai alternatives are hung as string gardens. What makes the Fleurieu Gifts’ kokedama moss balls special is that they are made using traditional methods so that they last.
This kokedama moss ball features the ever popular Parlour Palm. The Parlour Palm is a hardy indoor plant that first gained popularity as an indoor feature plant in Victorian times. This palm is ideal as a Kokedama moss ball and looks beautiful sitting on a shallow dish of water to keep the plant moist and the moss thriving. It requires a bright, warm, indoor position to grow at its best.
Our kokedama are created with love at Fleurieu Gifts in Port Noarlunga, South Australia. The roots of the parlour palm are enclosed in moss then covered with a specialist soil medium. This is then covered in living, natural bush moss and wound with twine. These moss balls measure approximately 30cm from top to bottom and the moss ball itself is around 15cm diameter.
Each moss ball comes complete with simple care instructions and a complimentary gift card.
